a Microchip

Sponsor the Microchipping of a Pet in North Jersey

Scary statistic: According to the New Jersey Department of Health, more than 15,000 dogs and cats were euthanized in N.J. pounds in 2016.

What if one of those 15,000 animals was yours? The most tragic stories we hear from pet owners involve a missing pet who ended up in a local kill shelter where it was euthanized before it could be reunited with its family.

Microchipping pets is one way to prevent shelter killing of beloved animals.

As part of our Lost and Found Pets of North Jersey animal rescue project, NJ STRAYS works with local cities and towns to offer free and low-cost microchip clinics to residents. This is a great way to ensure that shelters keep their intake numbers down, and helps them take a giant step toward No-Kill status.

Microchipping is also inexpensive. Please sponsor a pet microchip for just $10. During checkout, you'll have the opportunity to dedicate the microchip to a person (or pet!) of your choice. The pet who receives your generous gift will also receive your dedication. This is a wonderful way to pay forward good will, from one animal lover to another.
